Gratitude in the Bible is not a technique for feeling better; it is the natural response of a heart that has seen God's goodness. Thankfulness keeps remembering that what we have is given, and it turns even ordinary days into occasions for praise.
These verses call for thanks in all circumstances, anchor it in who God is, and show that a grateful heart is meant to be a settled habit rather than an occasional mood.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Living it out
Gratitude grows by being practised. Begin a habit of naming specific things God has given, especially on hard days, and let thanks become the doorway through which you come to Him.
Pair your requests with thanks. Before asking God for what is missing, thank Him for what is already true, and watch how it steadies the heart.
