Wisdom in the Bible is not raw intelligence or clever information. It is the skill of living well in God's world, and it begins with the fear of the Lord, a reverent trust that bows to Him as the source of all true understanding.
These verses show where wisdom comes from, how to ask for it, and what it looks like in practice. They send us to God rather than to ourselves, and they value wisdom above gold.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Living it out
When you face a decision, the Bible's first counsel is not to think harder but to ask God, who gives wisdom generously to those who request it in faith.
And test the wisdom you find. Heavenly wisdom is humble, peaceable, and merciful; if your conclusion is harsh, proud, or self-serving, it is not yet wisdom from above.
